Lake George 2002

Wednesday, September 11, 2002

We woke to a blissfully quiet news day. We also woke to the most gorgeous weather! The rain had already come and gone by morning and we were left with a crisp cool day, so Mark, the boys and I finally got to hike up to the old abandoned graphite mine. I can't believe we had never noticed the trail head just behind the lodge. It was neat to just walk out the back door and start hiking. We gathered all kinds of interesting pieces of nature to bring home for the boys to share at school.

We got a little rain in the afternoon, so we spent the rest of the day indoors. Mary Ellen had more light sticks for the kids this evening, and they had a grand sword fight with them.

We're so sad to be leaving tomorrow morning, and look forward to next year.
