The whole clan gathered today, and we had tons of wonderful relaxing visiting and fun down on the beach. Alex and Christian played together as if there had not been a year since they last saw each other. They spent all afternoon at the beach paddling around in the kayaks. I was amazed to see how well Alex was maneuvering his kayak! Mark put Patch in a kayak and he did a pretty decent job as well, although he certainly won't be going out in the open water anytime soon. Aunt Pat made her world-renowned pasta sauce and we ate like royalty! Alex play ROUGH all day and had all kinds of scrapes and bruises to show for it, but he didn't care.

KC and Stacy arrived this afternoon. It was so good to play with Preston and to be showered with smiles from Danielle. What cuties!

I was the last one to go to bed tonight, and as I was reading alone in the living room, I had a little visitor - a bat! It was fascinating, and also a little unnerving, wondering where he was going to dart to next.
